Cooking Classes for Adults and Kids!

Calling food enthusiasts of all ages: here’s your chance to learn cooking from the professionals!  Santa Fe’s top restaurant chefs and Cooking with Kids’ Super Chefs are offering one-hour cooking classes in their restaurants (unless otherwise noted) throughout the Santa Fe Harvest Festival. Unless otherwise noted with an asterisk (*), all classes are free to Gold and Red Pass holders.

The Secrets of Lamb Tagine (for anyone)

Virtual Dinner Guest Project (for anyone)  Just Added!
The Virtual Dinner Guest Project connects people around the world at their dinner tables using video conferencing technology and a shared meal, to promote intercultural communication and conflict resolution. The Santa Fe Harvest Festival and Devargas Sunflower Market invite you to  join us for a Virtual Dinner with Ciudad Juarez, Mexico at Epazote Restaurant on Thursday, November 17th at 6:45pm. The event is open to the public (with a recommended $5 donation), and appetizers will be provided by Chef Fernando Olea.

But like fine wine and single-malt Scotch, tequila has nuances of taste, and varies significantly, depending on its manufacturer, the process used, and the growing environment of the agave plant. Turkey Time (for adults - hands-on)
Have the upper hand on holiday cooking this year with this unique, technique-driven class.  Chef Johnny Vee takes the terror out of turkey roasting.  He will discuss various ways of preparing your bird, including brining and goose fat glazing.  You'll create delicious stuffings, including Cornbread Chestnut, Green Chile Sopaipilla, and Pumpkin & Candied Pecan, as well as side dishes such as Gourmet Green Bean Casserold, Turnips & greens with Mustern Butter.  For dessert, you will learn how to prepare Mocha Mint Tiramisu.  This holiday season, beat the bird at his own game!

Cooking with Kids' mission is to motivate kids to develop healthy eating habits through hands-on learning with fresh, affordable foods. Since 1995, thousands of Santa Fe Public Schools' elementary students have participated in cooking classes featuring foods from diverse cultural traditions as well as fruit and vegetable tasting lessons. Cooking with Kids has been recognized locally and nationally as an innovative leader in school-based food and nutrition education.
